You may be wondering why you should build your own bike when you can go buy an off the shelf electric bike or scooter at your local Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire for a inexpensive price. The main presume is these bikes just plain suck. They are underpowered with small motors, low amperage controllers, and weak batteries. This is fine if you just want to cruise gradually at 30kph (18 mph) on a flat road down to the local angle store and back and don't mind pedaling to make it up any hill, but I don't see them as a replacement for a car. You see them pedaling like mad to make it up a small hill or sometimes pushing them because their battery died. Traffic gets backed up behind them on narrow roads because they are moving so gradually and cars cannot pass them.
There are a few clubs that do make very nice high capability electric bikes but only if you are willing to spend up to 000 and most of them are still not as fast as a bike you can build yourself for a fraction of the cost. If you are serious about replacing your car and cutting the umbilical cord to the oil clubs you need to build the bike yourself, hand pick good capability components and modify some parts to growth performance and reliability. This way you can build a bike that perfectly matches your exact needs and will last for many years.

You may be mental why not just build an electric motorcycle instead of using a motorcycle as a platform. Well the motorcycle has several advantages. In most places you do not have to license or insure an electric bicycle, which can save you thousands of dollars a year alone. You can also ride an electric motorcycle on designated bike routes and paths. On a motorcycle you are obligated to obey the same rules as a car so you are stuck waiting in traffic with every other vehicle. A motorcycle weighs much less than a motorcycle chassis, which means it will need less power to move it. This translates to a more effective vehicle that can use a smaller (therefore cheaper) battery pack to trip the same distance. One final advantage of a motorcycle is it can be locked up to a bike rack instead of parking in a stall rescue you even more money by not purchasing a parking pass.

Why Build an electric Bike?Tribal Video Clips. Duration : 10.83 Mins.
I wrote the text for this one evening after a long session of looking at videos ranging from Christian conservatives complaining about Obama being the anti-Christ to Ron Paul supporters worrying about the CFR. I watched videos about the fear of a one world government, eugenics, and how the illuminati are going to use our own government and school systems to control our minds. Did you know we are all about to be micro chipped any day, just so that stores can sell us stuff that is targeted to us? Evidently the owners of Wal-mart must be in on the world takeover too. I often wonder to myself, is there any truth to any of this? Is the United Nations really an early form of a global governing body bent on the enslavement of mankind, or is it something that was set up to deal with the fact that we really are living on one tiny rock in space and the speed of travel and communications has made the idea of nation being self dependant obsolete? So far we are having a Global monetary meltdown because of bad management, and in the world there are whole populations on the verge of starvation and fighting civil wars- while the US argues about whether or not our new president is a closet muslim, or if we should put up a permanent mailbox in Iraq. What are the answers? Is there a solution to poverty, is there an answer to help the starving and sick? Why are we even discussing the dependence on foreign oil when we can already make electric cars and trains, and could use the sun and wind ...
